About Dr. Isabelle Giroux
Finding presence, balance, and purpose in academic life.
Dr. Isabelle Giroux is an experienced insider who gives voice to the unspoken truths of academic life, while offering a clear path forward for both students and faculty. She openly shares her journey from being a professor wrestling with her own anxiety and burnout when faced with the overwhelming pressures of academia, to applying the principles outlined in The Mindful Professor as a way to address these challenges. This vulnerability is a powerful tool for connection to her audience.
She brings over two decades of experience in the lived realities of academia, having taught across research universities, teaching-focused institutions, and polytechnic programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Her academic background in organizational behaviour and organization development (PhD, University of Hertfordshire; MSOD, Pepperdine University) informs her understanding of how individuals and institutions navigate the complexities of change.
